Bungo ("we", "our", "the app") is a free-to-play browser game available at mybungo.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

Data We Collect

We collect different types of data depending on how you use Bungo:

• Account data — If you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed password via Supabase (our database provider). We also store your game progress, including level, coins, items, traits, and friend connections.
• Guest data — If you play as a guest, your progress is stored locally in your browser. We do not collect personal information from guest players.
• Analytics data — We use Google Analytics 4 and PostHog to collect anonymous usage data such as pages visited, buttons clicked, session duration, and device type. This helps us understand how players use Bungo so we can improve the game.
• Advertising data — Third-party cookies may be set by Google AdSense to serve and personalize ads. See the Advertising section below for details.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the game, including saving and syncing your progress
• Enable social features like friends, leaderboards, and profile visits
• Analyze usage patterns to improve gameplay, fix bugs, and plan new features
• Serve advertisements that support the free-to-play model
• Communicate with you about your account if necessary (e.g., password resets)

Advertising

Bungo is supported by advertising through Google AdSense and the H5 Games Ad Placement API. Ads may appear as static display banners or optional rewarded video ads (where you choose to watch an ad to receive in-game energy or bonuses).

Google may use cookies and device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to Bungo or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads or by visiting aboutads.info.

Cookies

Bungo uses cookies and similar technologies for:

• Essential functionality — Authentication session tokens (if logged in)
• Analytics — Google Analytics and PostHog cookies for anonymous usage tracking
• Advertising — Google AdSense cookies for ad serving and measurement

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect some features of the game.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the following service providers for the purposes described in this policy:

• Supabase — Database and authentication
• Google — Analytics (GA4) and advertising (AdSense)
• PostHog — Product analytics
• Vercel — Web hosting and anonymous performance telemetry (Speed Insights / Web Vitals)
• Resend — Transactional email delivery for feedback submissions and account-related messages
• Google Fonts — Serves the Fredoka web font; your IP address may be logged by Google when the font is requested

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days. Anonymous analytics data may be retained indefinitely in aggregate form.

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data and account
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
